A DARK SONG, the stunningly dark and twisted debut film of writer-director Liam Gavin, recently screened at the London Film Festival this past weekend amidst rave reviews from horror fans and critics alike.
Gavin attended the LFF screening along with stars Catherine Walker and Steve Oram, cinematographer Cathal Watters, editor Anna O’Flanagan, producer David Collins, and associate producer Eoin O’Faolain.
A Dark Song follows Sophia (Walker), a young mother grief-stricken by the untimely death of her son who seeks out a misanthropic occultist (Oram) to help her find peace through demonic revenge. However, Sophia soon discovers that the path of black magic is one not treaded lightly. As they delve deeper into one another and the forces they hope to contact, the two main characters undertake an arduous and anguishing psychological journey that not only threatens their lives but their souls as well.
A Dark Song recently screened in the US at Austin’s Fantastic Fest and is set to screen at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, the Telluride Horror Festival in Colorado, and Morbido Fest in Mexico in the coming weeks.
